Instructions booklet. Superflex® Bingo is a flexible, fun, and educational game! It enables students to practice identifying Social Thinking concepts and Superflex characters to strengthen their self-regulation and superflexible thinking powers. This is not a stand-alone teaching tool, do not introduce this game until your students have completed You Are a Social Detective! and the Superflex curriculum.

Unlike traditional Bingo games where players match pictures or numbers, Superflex Bingo engages players in “thinking through the Bingo Board.” Students listen to a situation read aloud and figure out a Social Thinking concept or Superflex character that fits the situation, placing a game piece on the square that matches their thinking. The game is designed so that all players “win” by getting bingos during the session, alleviating the behavior dysregulation that can often occur in competitive games. Superflex Bingo is 12 games in one, providing 12 different themed card packs to keep students engaged and learning through the year (examples include Classroom, School Field Trip, Community, Winter Holidays, Summer Vacation, etc.).

"This book shows how to teach functional communication skills to children on the autistic spectrum, in order to help them achieve four important life qualities: safety, happiness, independence, and productivity. Expert author Elizabeth Ives Field combines over four decades of working in the autism field to provide practical, in depth teaching strategies for children on the spectrum who struggle with 'typical' communication. Her strategies can be applied and adapted for children who are non-verbal or with limited vocabulary, children with echolalia, as well as for social and behavioral issues. Importantly the book considers the full severity of autism across the spectrum and emphasizes the need to teach skills that are functional, developmentally appropriate, useful in the moment and a step to future learning. The book will include case studies to show how communication difficulties and solutions in action. This fits with the overall direction of the list in terms of being positive about autism while remaining realistic about challenges. We have also been discussing publishing more for speech language therapists and this book has a strong professional market we know we can reach. I think the title needs some work and the author is open to changing it - it might be a good idea to include echolalia as a key word as there aren't many resources looking at this."

The Should I or Shouldn’t I? What Would Others Think? ™ game encourages players to think about their own behavior choices and then compare how their perceptions match (or don’t) those of the other players. It revolves around the idea of perspective taking - being able to think about others, their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how this interrelationship plays out in social situations. The game is based on the Social Thinking concepts and vocabulary introduced by Michelle Garcia Winner and outlined in her many books and articles on the topic.Contents: Game Instructions; Prompt Card Deck with 100 cards; Challenge Card Deck with 50 cards; 6 sets of Voting Cards (numbers 1-5 in each set); 6 copies of the Should I or Shouldn’t I? Behavior Scale; Teaching Guide.
Object of the Game
Think about your own thoughts and behaviors and those of others during various situations; match the other players’ responses to score points and win.
