Description: Novels written in verse tell a story with a beginning, middle and end (like other novels). However, novels in verse break free of the sentence and paragraph structure (prose) that most novels use. They use poetry (rhyming or not) to convey the story. Because many lines are short there is a lot of white space and while the book may be thick, that doesn't mean it is a long read.
